Adding volume to your skin and reducing creases while taking years off of your face.
What is Restylane and how does it work?
Restylane is a cosmetic dermal filler that can revitalize your appearance by correcting moderate to severe facial wrinkles and adding fullness to your skin. This clear gel contains hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that adds volume when injected under the skin. Because the hyaluronic acid in Restylane is made of synthetic material and contains no actual live ingredients, it has virtually no risk of allergic or other inflammatory reaction.
How can Restylane improve my appearance?
Restylane adds contours and fills facial depressions to give you a refreshed, younger look. Specifically, it can reduce the appearance of lines around the mouth, add softness and contouring of the cheeks, fill in hollow eye troughs, and smooth nasolabial folds (creases between the nose and corner of the mouth). Restylane is also used to enhance the fullness of the lips.
Injections of Restylane or Juvederm are often given in combination with Botox, “filling in” lines while Botox’s stops the creation of the wrinkles.
How long do the results last?
Typically six to nine months.
Are there any side effects?
As with any injectable dermal filler, you may experience minor swelling, redness, bruising or tenderness at the injection site. Those side effects, if they occur, dissipate within a few days. You will be able to return to normal activities immediately, but you should avoid any facial massage or pressure on the injected areas for at least one week.
